Message From The President

President Hitoshi Ochi

By putting our corporate philosophy “Best Quality for a Better Life” into practice, the Mitsubishi Rayon Group will expand globally in its core MMA, Carbon Fiber & Composite Materials, and Aqua Solution businesses to contribute to the achievement of KAITEKI*.

Our new medium-term management plan beginning in April 2016, APTSIS 20, sets out the Mitsubishi Rayon Group’s basic management policies:
1. Achieving KAITEKI on a truly global level
2. Ensuring thorough portfolio management
3. Strengthening global management
4. Enhancing manufacturing or “Monozukuri” capabilities
5. Utilizing people’s capabilities—promoting true diversity
As well as further enhancing measures implemented under APTSIS 15, these policies include new measures that the group will actively address.
In MMA business we will accelerate efforts to complete the Middle East project, optimize global operational systems, and decide on US project implementation. In the Carbon Fiber & Composite Materials business, we will establish business with growth capacity and high profitability by providing differentiated products and solutions. In Aqua Solution business we will prioritize business development in China and the ASEAN region, and speed up development and sales of unit and package equipment providing solutions in water treatment system, high performance separation and purification  as well as purification of water for household use.
In addition to implementing the Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation (MCHC) Group’s original “KAITEKI management” method based on three management axes—Management of Economics (MOE), Management of Technology (MOT), and Management of Sustainability (MOS)—and establishing a portfolio of businesses resilient to various changes in market environments, we will speed up management processes and continue growing as a sustainable corporate group.
In April 2017 we will merge with Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc. to form a new comprehensive chemicals manufacturer. The merger will establish structures for creating high-growth, high-profitability businesses, and will be the first step on the path to reform.

*KAITEKI means “a sustainable condition which is comfortable for people, society and the Earth, transcending time and generations.” It is an original concept of the MCHC Group that proposes a way forward in the sustainable development of society and the planet, in addition to serving as a guide for solving environmental and social issues.
