The management and staff of Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. wish to express their deepest condolences to all who have suffered from the recent earthquake in China’s Sichuan Province.
    The Company’s operations in China are located mainly in the eastern and southern regions of the country. Fortunately, none of the Group’s employees were among those killed or injured by the earthquake that hit the province of Sichuan and surrounding areas of China on May 12. Nonetheless, in view of the magnitude of this tragedy, we would like to express the deep sympathy felt by the Mitsubishi Rayon Group and its employees for all those whose lives who have been affected by this disaster.
    The Mitsubishi Rayon Group companies in China, and all their employees, have displayed their sympathy in concrete fashion by making donations to the Red Cross Society of China, while Mitsubishi Rayon itself has made a donation of five million yen (approximately RMB 338,000) to the Japanese Red Cross Society for the provision of assistance for the victims of the Sichuan earthquake.
    People affected by the earthquake are expected to be in need of help for a long time to come. Mitsubishi Rayon plans to carefully study various options for providing continued assistance to these disaster victims, including the donation of products made by the Group.
