Huizhou MMA Co., Ltd., a member of the Mitsubishi Rayon Group located in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province in Southern China, commenced production of MMA monomer on December 6, 2006.
  Mitsubishi Rayon regards China not only as an ideal location for manufacturing facilities, in view of its competitive labor costs, but also as a huge market for high-end MMA products. For these reasons, since April 1998 we have been manufacturing the MMA derivative butyl methacrylate (6,400 tons per annum) at our subsidiary Suzhou Sanyouli Chemicals Co., Ltd. Since December 2003, our subsidiary Nantong Rayon Chemical Co., Ltd. has been producing acrylic resin forming materials at a rate of 40,000 tons per annum, and at its plant on an adjacent site subsidiary Mitsubishi Rayon Polymer Nantong Co., Ltd. has been producing acrylic resin sheets (20,000 tons/annum) and acrylic resins for paints (3,500 tons/annum) since June 2005.
  The main strength of Mitsubishi Rayon’s MMA business lies in its comprehensive range of operations from upstream materials (monomer) to downstream products such as homopolymers and copolymers. The very comprehensiveness of our operations creates synergistic merits, and the recent start-up of MMA production at Huizhou MMA gives us a solid production and distribution base in China, the third country in which we operate production facilities, following Japan and Thailand.
