Establishment of MITSUBISHI RAYON (SHANGHAI) CO.,LTD.

Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. has recently established MITSUBISHI RAYON (SHANGHAI) CO.,LTD. to oversee corporate governance and risk management at Mitsubishi Rayon Group (hereinafter referred to as "MRC Group") affiliates operating in China. Functioning as a sales arm of the Group, the new company will also be responsible for enhancing the efficiency of product sales in the Chinese market. Under the direction of the new company, we expect our Group affiliates in China to make strict legal compliance a top management priority.
Scope of Business
Oversee fund operations, financing, labor and legal issues at Group companies operating in China, and provide support services in the fields of R&D, technology and the import and sale of MRC Group products in the Chinese market as well as the export of Group products made in China.
Note: Management companies (companies that principally engage in the management of other companies) were previously prohibited from conducting sales activities in China. Through revisions to the Provisions on the Establishment of Regional Headquarters by Multinational Corporations made in July 2008, it has become possible for such companies to undertake sales activities.
