A report was carried by certain Japanese news media corporations today (August 7, 2009) to the effect that, according to reliable sources, Mitsubishi Rayon has taken the decision to form a business alliance with SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation).

Mitsubishi Rayon has issued no announcement to that effect.

The Company will immediately announce any developments with respect to this matter as they occur.
