thus avoiding the wastage problems inherent in partial filtration
systems, as well as greatly simplifying the piping required and eliminating
energy loss. Hardly any portions of the filter other than the membrane
itself come into contact with the liquid, and thus the amount of impurities
dissolved is extremely small, enabling the production of filtered
water of very high purity. |

| MRE's hollow-fiber membrane has high tensile strength and does
not require a supporting mesh. We are therefore able to produce a
compact filtration unit that nonetheless contains a large-area membrane. |

| As the outer case can be thrown away, there is no
need to clean the housing when changing filters. This greatly contributes
to improved sanitation. Our compact filtration units are ideal for incorporation

life. Settings can be adjusted to allow the production of various

membranes and air filtration units employing hydrophobic fibers |

| Thanks to the small amount of hydrophobic fibers
included in the membrane, any air that enters the system is transported
to the outside of the filter, and thus the "air-lock” phenomenon does
not occur. This structure eliminates the need for special air-removal
operations. |
